The Area Zero Cluster brings together EU-funded projects working to advance clean, low-emission, and energy-efficient agriculture. By fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and innovation, the cluster supports the transition towards a more resilient and climate-smart agricultural sector. Together, its members aim to increase the visibility and impact of project results while contributing to Europe's sustainability and climate objectives.
Sister project: TEAPOTS develops an innovative, modular solution that helps agri-food players meet local and seasonal energy needs by valorising agricultural waste. It combines pyrolysis with a Compost Heat Recovery System (CHRS), producing heat and electricity. These technologies are integrated into the TEAPOTS Integrated Solution (TIS), which ensures reliable refrigeration while producing biochar and compost to improve soils and store carbon. Supported by satellite data, predictive tools, and a user-friendly digital platform, TEAPOTS builds a network of biomass producers committed to sustainability.

Sister project: ECOLOOP is a Horizon Europe–funded project empowering farmers and foresters with tools, knowledge, and business models for efficient land and waste management. It promotes decentralised renewable energy use to reduce carbon footprints, improve soil biodiversity, and support climate resilience, gender equality, and regional development. The project develops and demonstrates solutions combining biogas, biomass, agri-PV, and geothermal energy to meet local energy needs for electricity, heating, cooling, transport, and waste management. ECOLOOP also encourages efficient agricultural and forestry waste management, benefiting biodiversity, soil health, and water protection.
Solutions are being tested in four pilot sites across Spain, Slovenia, Estonia, and Bulgaria, covering diverse crops, plantations, and forest systems, with the aim of ensuring replicability, scale-up, and market uptake.
